The Calendar of Sanctuary
In the Union of Mortals there are 13 months in a year divided into 28 days each. Every month was named after a god and the years are counted starting from the formation of the People’s Resistance, now known as the Dyadra Kingdom.
The year begins in the winter month of Zerus with Unification Day, the largest holiday of the year.

Major Union Holidays
Unification Day: Zerus 1st. Celebrations for ushering in the new year and remembering the formation of the Union begin the night before the first. Parades, fireworks, streamers, confetti, music and noise will persist throughout the night. This giant party during the night is followed by a day of rest to sooth hangovers and appreciate friends and loved ones.
Reminiscence: Kemera 12th Commemorates the death of Irdon and all the fallen soldiers of the Union. A somber day for normal folk to show some appreciation and care for the ones that protect them. No businesses operate during Reminiscence and religious services are observed depending on the region.
Echo’s Eve: When the Ever Crescent moon of Sanctuary flips into its mirror image a festival is held to celebrate Fimjir’s cosmic prank. Historically the Lunar Echo was perceived as a time for powerful witchcraft, dark magics and evil spirits, and the festival was held to appease those creatures of the night. In modern times the ancient traditions and solemn protective wards have been turned into fun activities for children and minor pranks exchanged by adults. Any time the moon is in Echo a festival is held, though that usually happens only once every few years.
Holly Fest: Gammos 20th A day for families, children, and charity in midwinter. An ancient celebration starting before the gods began talking to the people, Holly Fest is the most enduring tradition in Sanctuary. Gift giving and goodwill are the focus. Few people can resist the charm of the holiday season and most of Gammos seems to be focused around either Holly Fest or the upcoming New Year festivities.
