The furious drunkard of diminutive status Gnar lives life day-to-day as a mercenary for hire.

Appearance

With a body chiseled from lifelong physical activity this small gnome carries himself with the sturdy fortitude of a world class athlete. Not an inch of fat remains on his three foot frame and he bares his physique with pride. Wearing bronze greaves, bracers, helmet and not much else he wields an oversized iron mallet and a green travelers cloak. His face is smooth and his auburn hair is trimmed short.

Character Sheet

Personality

Gnar has a chip on his shoulder about as big as the mallet he wields into battle. He never backs down from a challenge or suffers any slight he perceives upon his height or prowess as a warrior, intentional or otherwise. He lives in the moment, never plans ahead, and local tavern keepers have learned to receive payment up front for his liquor. He is proud, somewhat narrow minded, and only reads enough common to get by but he is a fearsome foe when angered and tenacious as a bulldog when his ire is raised.

History

Born into a household of custodians within the Kingdom of Alm, Gnar was exiled from the Hold of Queala after he destroyed a priceless urn containing the remains of a noble’s ancestors while apprenticing with his father. Normally the penalty for such an egregious transgression would be lifelong imprisonment but Gnar’s Father Dekkar pleaded for mercy from the governor, resulting in Gnars permanent banishment from the Radiant Peaks. With no home left to return to the young gnome ventured out through the Jasara Desert and into the Desert of the Lost, eventually becoming a hunter of sand sharks centered in the Vibrant Oasis where he remained for several years.

One day after a successful hunt Gnar returned to town, sand lizard held aloft his tiny broad shoulders, he stepped into the central bazaar and he couldn't help but notice a group of strangers seemed to be making a large purchase of the expensive Vibrant Whiskey the Oasis was known for. Several elves and half-elves dressed in travelers cloaks with longbows were loading packs and stuffing supplies into pockets as he hefted his kill onto the ground in front of the merchant he usually dealt with. Impressed by this little Gnomes physical prowess, the leader of the group, Quinn Thoroughgood, offered Gnar a job. He was buying supplies for a festival fast approaching and travel had become difficult back into the Crescent, he could use more strong arms and adept warriors. Seeing no reason to refuse Gnar had accepted the man’s gold and headed north accompanying him.

Interactions with Plan B

The party first encountered Gnar during the Lunar Echo Festival in Solo ‘Quelas, where he was engaging in a bar brawl within the large open drinking area set up for the festivities.

Always the first to throw a punch, Gnar wouldn’t stand for the other belligerent drunk knocking his expensive whiskey out of his hands.

He nearly caved the mans chest in with his fist before accepting Rusty’s apology for his companion’s behavior.

Seeing the gnome’s fierce strength in person and needing to find two companions for the festival tournament the party scooped up Gnar for their roster with the promising prize of unlimited drinks for a month that would be awarded to the winners of the competition. After completing their team with the addition of the soft-spoken druid Sodrish Dovah they entered the Lunar Echo Festival Tournament.

Gnar was an unstoppable force with free drinks on the line, personally knocking out several other competitors.

The final round contained a mutant chimera, whcih was dispatched handily and the drink tokens were secured!

Immediately following the final round of the tournament Solo ‘Quelas was assailed by the Migratory Path and everyone was forced to flee into the protective dome of the settlement. Gnar fought alongside Plan B in the retreat and survived some close calls making it back to safety.

Last Sighting

The party last saw Gnar heading directly to the bar as soon as he got inside the town during the Lunar Echo Festival. They have heard, however, that he has since left Solo ‘Quelas and returned to the Vibrant Oasis after hiring on for a brief journey with the Men-o-War.
