Ebb Marley

 The retainer of Plan B, He works at organizing and streamlining all the mundane day-to-day tasks of the party. 

Appearance 

Dressed in red and white, fully bald with a large scar covering a missing eye, a sword at his hip, and wearing a padded vest, Ebb Marley stands tall and straight at all times. He carries a scroll case in a bandolier and is always ready with a quill or a satchel if need be. 

Personality 

Overly serious and duty-bound Ebb is loyal to a fault and older than he looks. He is both wise and experienced in many different occupations though he’s sworn off adventuring after his latest brush with death. He believes he owes Plan B his life and feels he can help to repay that debt with his organizational expertise, adventurers are not known for being good with long term planning after all. 

History

The son of a butler and retired veteran, Ebb served as the Sea Dragon Quartermaster in Port Salvation for over ten years. He was an adept hand at managing people and supplies and took an active part in the booming shipbuilding industry of that growing metropolis. He decided not to reenlist after his term was done and was honorably discharged from the UCAF. After learning of the Royal Decree regarding the Crescent Wildlands Ebb packed his belongings and headed north to carve out a little territory of his own to call home. He dreamed of owning his own land but he also knew his own skills and limitations so he began by plying his trade with the adventurers of Solo ‘Quelas. He owns and operates a small safe storage within the protective dome of the settlement and acts as a mediary for couriers, documents and items being sent to and from the Union are his primary source of business.

Interactions with Plan B

During the Lunar Echo Festival Solo ‘Quelas was assaulted by beasts and Satyrs lead by the Migratory Path.

Ebb was trapped under a display made for the festivities and unable to escape until Renault heaved the object off of him and dragged the man bodily to his feet. If not for the paladin Ebb surely would have died as many others did that night.

Several times during their flight an errant acid hound or harpy would threaten to end his life but the party refused to leave Ebb to his devices and protected him all the way to safety.

Upon realizing the weight of the debt he owed the altruistic adventurers Ebb gave the party his blood token, a rarely used custom in Solo ‘Quelas that signified a person’s complete loyalty and willingness to serve. Somewhat uncomfortable with the idea of having a servant all of the sudden, several members of the party tried to politely refuse but Ebb was adamant. He was a man of honor and a favor must be repaid in kind, even if that task took the rest of his life.

Since then Ebb has worked to prove himself useful to Plan B. He organized for them to have a permanent home within the settlement, has taken messages and gathered information for the group as well as acted as an intermediary for purchases and sales. He endeavors to minimize the mundane chores the party has to deal with in order to allow them to focus on their more important matters.

Last Sighting

Before the group left Solo ‘Quelas with Bloque Rayson to chase the black dragon Yargoth Renault left several messages and a few packages he intended to send back home to the Union. Ebb assured him the money and letters would make it to their destinations safely.
