Personality

Sharok has little time for fools or pleasantries, he likes to get down to business and is often blunt and direct in his demeanor, but will spend a great deal of time taking the measure of a person from personal observation. Lizardfolk are often seen as savage or brutal and Sharok often plays to those expectations, either for intimidation or so his enemies will underestimate him. He has lived through a lot and his experiences have made him paranoid and slow to trust. The few people that he does trust he is fiercely loyal to. He is especially distrustful of magic users and holds a violent hatred for any that would use magic to bend another’s will to their own. He takes his duties seriously and isn’t above getting his hands dirty for the Band of the Blade, often solving problems before they become large enough to reach Travis Brightblade’s attention.

History

Originally from the Far Continent, Sharok served his young life as a galley oarsman for the Black Armada before his slave ship was captured by the Union navy off the coast of Deliverance. Once freed he quickly joined the Blue Ribbon army in the fight against slavery and the abuse of power. After several manhunts he became captured in a botched infiltration of Lekàni, where he met Travis Brightblade and Celeste Silverhome when they freed him from his shackles. Feeling indebted to the god-touched Travis and respecting Celeste’s martial prowess Sharok aided the duo in freeing Brightblade from his gilded cage, separating himself from the Union and the Blue Ribbon army to form the Band of the Blade. The founding members vowed to make the world a better place for those who the Union couldn’t or wouldn’t help and they’ve been working as respected third party law enforcement and protection ever since.

Interactions With Plan B

As the operator and supervisor of the Band of the Blades military and hunting operations Sharok has had a great many dealings with Plan B. When alerted to the presence of the Black Bucks in the Crescent Wildlands, he quickly gathered the party for a decisive stroke against the slavers. He pushed them hard to the Bandit Stronghold with Celeste at his side and Ham, Dam, and Lam assisting.

The combined group assaulted the encampment after ambushing one of their hunting parties.

With the aid of the adventurers and the freed orc laborers they stormed the bandit camp.

Sharok personally slew the mage overseer and eliminated the bandit captain before the man could finish Renault, whom he had in his clutches.

Upon completion of the task the red lizardman offered his thanks by way of a favor. He trained Renault in his ways of patient hunting and careful attentiveness, bringing the young man unarmored to the jungle swamps near Solo ‘Quelas where they tracked and hunted alligators together for a month.

Some time later, during the Lunar Echo Festival, Sharok and his band faced off against Plan B in the second round of the Lunar Echo Tournament.

The clever use of Celeste’s silence and the goblin’s tanglefoot bags shut down the spellcasters temporarily.

Sharok charged forward and quickly knocked Yatsi unconscious before he was overwhelmed as his less militant allies ran from the ferocious Gnar

Securing the Bracers of Defense for Celeste as a consolation prize the next time the party would interact with the duo would be after the raid on the Lunar Echo Festival and the cleansing of Zakelrus.

With the western watchtowers under Satyr control the group seized the furthest one and requested aid to hold the reclaimed tower. Sharok and Celeste rushed to the aid of the party with a exhausted garrison to take control of what is now known as Travis’ Hold.

Upon arrival the tower was beset by beast and Satyr.

After dispatching the attacking forces Sharok and Celeste rewarded the party for their deeds and planted their feet in the tower. Aside from a few trips back to Solo ‘Quelas they garrisoned Travis’ Hold throughout the entire conflict with the Migratory Path. As time passed the amount of mindless beasts that attacked the tower on a daily basis nearly overwhelmed them. They had to call in backup several times and reinforced their defenses mightily. By the time Plan B eliminated Zenka and Nitrak most of the Band’s forces were fighting in the hold with Travis in the lead for over a month.

Last Sighting

The last the party saw of Sharok he was riding a new companion, a Prisma he introduced as Tusk, and was rushing to verify that the Satyr threat had been destroyed. Both he and Celeste thanked the group for their deeds before leaving to finish their task.
